Sand and Aggregates
Hanlon concrete have an extensive reserve of aggregate yet to process at Robertstown County Kildare. Its gravel pit is made up of predominately limestone and external testing has shown it to be a particularly abrasive stone very suitable for drainage and civil work in the construction of major road developments which indeed it has been used for in the past the most recent been the Kildare bye pass motorway.
Sand, Gravel & Aggregate in convenient Tonne Bags We deliver an extensive choice of sizes in our range of gravels and aggregates in handy Tonne Bags, perfect for those home building and garden projects. Our bagged gravel and sand is delivered in large bags, each weighing 1 Tonne in weight, and are very neat and tidy for longer storage periods if you don't get to use the complete contents in one go.
Aggregate Usages Used on maintenance and construction of motorways with the larger stone used mainly to form bases and the smaller stones mixed with bitumen for macadam paving and with cement for ready-mix concrete.
The graded stone is essential material for the construction of all types of building construction and civil engineering projects used in this country. It has the added vital ingredient of standing the test of time and will last from generation to generation.
The following is a List of all Hanlon Concrete Aggregate and Sand Products
20mm Round This product is extensively used in the manufacture of ready-mix concrete. Can be used in drainage, and in yards and walkways as a finished surface. It is a clean and very cheap alternative to tarmacadam, cobble and concrete. It is a round stone of singular size and is washed and graded through our washing plant.
10mm Round This product is extensively used in the manufacture of ready-mix concrete and can also be used in drainage. It can be used in yards and walkways as a finished surface. It is a very clean and cheap alternative to tarmacadam, cobble and concrete. It is a round stone of singular size and is washed and graded through our washing plant.
20mm Crushed This product can be used in the manufacture of ready-mix concrete. It can also be used on yards and walkways and is a cheap alternative to tarmacadam, cobble and concrete. It is a crushed stone of singular size and irregular shape and is washed and graded through our washing plant.
10mm Crushed This product can be used in the manufacture of ready-mix concrete. It can also be used as a cheap alternative to tarmacadam, cobble and concrete. It is a crushed stone of singular size and irregular shape and is washed and graded through our washing plant.
Zone 2 Medium Sand This product is extensively used in the manufacture of ready-mix concrete. This product can also be referred to as plastering sand as this is one of its uses together with being used for sand and cement screeds and for sand arenas. It is washed and graded at our washing plant.
Zone 1 Sharp Sand This product can be too course on its own as an ingredient for the manufacture of ready-mix concrete or used as a plastering sand. It can be used as a sand and cement screed and for bedding under cobble and paving. It is washed and graded at our washing plant.
Grit This product is graded and washed in our washing plant. Its max size is from 7mm down. It is very suitable for large pipe bedding and is used extensively on the construction of motorways etc the most recent which we supplied to been the Kildare Bye Pass. It can also be used for bedding under cobble and paving slabs.
Clause 505B This is a washed graded stone product produced in our washing plant which is predominantly round in shape. Its main uses are for percolation areas, drainage and soak holes. It is a very popular product on major road developments and motorways and which we have supplied extensively to the Kildare bye pass.
Clause 804 This product can be either produced from graded crushed rock or standard graded stone. The maximum size is 75mm mixed with smaller sizes right down to dust. Clause 804 is used as a blinding or finished surface on top of a base material (e.g. Clause 616).
Clause 616 This is a gravel type material which is extracted directly off the face/top of the gravel pit. Clause 616 consists of big stones down to a fine gravel. Its primary use is as a base material for roads, yards, slabs etc.
Dust
This is a fine crushed stone not powder like but small and fine.
Dust can be used on top of Clause 804 as a final finish or just to
seal off before applying the final surface (e.g. pebble). It can
also be used for bedding under cobble and paving slabs.
