Floor Screed Underfloor Heating Systems

Floor Screed for Screed Underfloor Heating by Ultraflo is the ideal solution for under floor heating systems in both commercial buildings as well as domestic houses in Ireland due to its ease of installation and rapid setting times and properties.

Our Floor Screed product has various Minimum Application Thickness specifications depending on the type of floor covering concerned, covering bonded floors, unbonded floors, floating floors, and underfloor heating systems.

Screed Underfloor Heating System screed thickness
The recommended Under Floor Heating Screed thickness is set at 30mm minimum to cover the underfloor pipes sufficiently. Note: any deviations in the levels and surface regularity of the base slab should be taken into consideration when determining the thickness of screed, to ensure the minimum thickness can be achieved.

The Screed Underfloor Heating diagram below shows the recommended 30mm thickness in detail.

Floor Screed Underfloor Heating application
Where under-floor heating is to be installed, lay the under floor heating system as per manufactures recommendations for use with calcium sulphate screeds. Pipe work needs to be laid on top of the watertight membrane to allow the Floor Screed from Ultrflo to flow around the pipes.

Ensure the underfloor heating pipework is mechanically fixed at 400mm centres. Failure to do so will mean the underfloor heating pipe work will float once the floor screed is poured.

All wet underfloor heating systems must be pressure tested with water prior to pouring screed and should be left filled with water. This will help reduce the tendency of the pipes to float.
