Alphablocs
Alfablocs are free standing retaining walls suitable for any bulk storage material. Alfablocs are all ‘A’ shaped and this design adds additional stability generated by the force of material down on the face of the wall. While it not essential Alfablocs work best standing on a hard concrete surface but they can also be placed on compacted crushed stone or similar once it is level. Alfablocs can be placed to form a storage bay in minutes and if needed can be moved again just as quickly. They don’t have a toe on one side like L-Walls so a loading shovel won’t be hitting off them and because of the shape Alfablocs are self cleaning.
We supply four different sizes:
- 4 ft Alfabloc is 1.2m high x 2m long x 600mm thick (at the base) these weigh 1.5 tons These are best suited for a maize or whole crop clamp and also aggregates
- 8 ft Alfabloc is 2.4m high x 1.2m long x 770mm thick (at the base) and weigh 1.75 tons. These are the most suitable walls for grain stores because of their height but also they are only 0.77mm thick so they will not take up too much floor space in the shed as opposed to a 10ft Alfabloc will take up 1.22m of floor space
- 10 ft Alfabloc is 3.0m high x 1.2m long x 1.20 thick (at the base) and weigh 2.75 tons. Suitable to retain silage, sludge or stock piling feedstuff
- 12 ft Alfabloc is 3.60m high x 1.2m long x 1.20 m thick (at the base) and weighs 2.85 tons. These are basically 10ft Alfablocs with a 2ft steel extension piece on top
